16th-Apr-2009 06:14 pm - Vacation!!!! sorta
PD: Accidentally Involuntary Manslaughte
So I am in the middle of my three week vacation and I have finally gotten the chance to just lay around the house.

I've been flying around like a crazy person. I mean literally flying around.

My vacation started on April 4th a Saturday, since my schedule is FRI-SUN graveyard and the work week for me starts on SAT. So really my schedule is SAT, SUN, and FRI 2130-0630.

On Tuesday the 7th I flew down to Tuscan to see my mom.

On Friday the 10th we drove from Tuscan to Phoenix to pick up my dad.

We stayed in Phoenix till Sunday the 12th when we flew to Portland, OR and then drove from Portland to Seattle.

Later Sunday night my sister called from Portland, where she had taken my car to visit friends, to say that she had gotten very ill and asked if I could fly down to drive her home to Seattle.

Which of course I did on Monday the 13th.

Then Tuesday the 14th I drove my sister to work and hung around for a couple hours so we could go and get our new glasses.

On Wednesday the 15th I did my taxes, and then I had to drive my mom to and back to Fort Lewis.

That brings us to today where I am finally just sitting around the house catching up on things.
14th-Jan-2009 12:08 pm - Yeah, I am off probation at work!!!!
DS: Stealthy Mounties
So I have finally passed probation at work and I am on my own. Which is a little scary since there is about 3 hours where there is no one to work problems with.

I have the weekend graveyard shift, which is a part time shift so I only work 30 hours a week. I work three ten hour shifts Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. It's great to have four days off each week, but I don't know if my budget will let me keep the four days off without getting a second job.

If it does I think I want to go back to school. I think I have finally decided what I want to get a degree in. Well I've narrowed it down to two. A Library Science degree or a mechanics degree. Choices choices!

I named 48 US states in 10 minutes How many US states can you name in 10 minutes?
SGA: Galaxy Defenders
So I had missed a couple episodes of Atlantis while we were moving, and by a couple I mean about 6. One of the ones that I had missed was The Shrine.

Can I just say one thing that made my slashy heart go pitter patter. John gives Rodney his jacket to wear when they go to have a beer. I mean really does it get any better than that.

The entire episode was awesome, I loved seeing Jeannie again, I really love Kate Hewlett.

The only thing I didn't really care for was the Jennifer Keller interactions this episode, for the most part I really like the character, but not in this episode.

I also watched the premier again and it was just as awesome. I loved the entire Teyla giving birth scene. That was so funny, and John being all heroic and going to rescue Teyla was rockin'.

So we just moved housed, from a very small three bedroom home with one bath to a much larger four bed and three bath home. The neighborhood is a lot nicer than where we were at but it is also a lot snobbier than any area we have ever lived in.

Although since we lived in military housing for most of my life that's not saying much.

What's really nice is we have two TVs now, one in the downstairs area and one in the living room.

So basically one for the kids and one for the parents, and one with a DVR, which will rock since I am going to be on a graveyard shift on the weekends and I don't want to miss my shows.

Speaking of shows, my boss at work reced a show called Life on NBC, it is awesome and I love all of the fruit eating.
20th-Oct-2008 08:00 pm - Sanctuary kicks some booty!
S: Seeking
So I started watching Sanctuary on Sci-Fi, I had been watching it on the webisodes. It is amazing. I love the virtual sets, the clothes, and the awesome characters.

The acting isn't half bad either. ;)

Mr. Jones was rockin'! I just don't have enough words for Amanda Tapping, she is so beautiful. I am so glad she grew her hair and died it brown, much better than the really bad wig that she had been wearing in the webisodes. You know what I am talking about, the one that looked like Teyla's from the first season. That really bad orange one.

My brother and I love to watch it together with SGA, although there is a little sadness and anger when we watch SGA. You know because of the whole cancellation thing. I keep hoping this season will just keep going and going and never end.

Sad face :(

The last episode of SGA was amazing, I think I was screaming and squeezing my brother when McKay was being all military. The quick reactions and the steady hand make my tummy flutter. Also, I really love Becket with his pretty blue eyes and his crazy awesome courage.
11th-Aug-2008 11:30 pm - Promotion!!! Yeah!!!
D: Game On
So I was promoted at work. I will now be a crew scheduler for the pilots at the Airline. My last day at the airport was tonight and I start work at our headquarters in Seattle on the 25th of August.

I get some time between the two because I am moving from Portland, OR to Seattle, WA. I am excited to be moving back with my parents, but very sad to be leaving wonderful Portland.

I will especially miss the great public transportation.

I am very nervous about the new job because there is a lot more memory things I have to learn. I have to memorize the pilot union contract and all the FAA rules.

I really hope I do well.

Q: You Off My Planet
So I finally have proof that karma is real and will come back to bite you in the ass.

I was at work working in the baggage area, specifically I was working at the podium we have that sits right by the baggage carousels. When we are out there we not only monitor and keep rack of luggage we also have to monitor the people standing around, we answer questions and on this occasion ask people to follow airport rules.

I was out there by myself, normally we have to agents for safety, when a lady took her dog out of it's kennel to let it stretch it's legs after the flight. Now technically they are not allowed to have animals out of their kennels but we allow it as long as the animals behave themselves and leave the other passengers alone.

In this case that didn't happen. The dog was a small dog, the size of a Chihuahua, and it immediately started barking and running around. I left it alone giving it time to maybe run out of energy but it soon started running up to other passengers and jumping up their legs.

Obviously at that point I had to do something, so I walked up and asked her to please put her dog back in the kennel since it was against Airport rules to have animals running around.

She was upset that I would ask her to do that since her dog had been cooped up for hours. I asked her to either put her dog back in the kennel or control the dog from bothering other people. She turned away from me and said I had no power over her and she would do whatever she liked.

I asked her again to control her dog or I would be forced to call the port police and they would be forced to put her dog in it's kennel. She just laughed at me and didn't reply.

I walked back to my podium to call the police when her dog ran in front of her dragging his leash on the ground. the lady walked forward to, I assume, grab her bag when at the same time her dog pulled the leash tight. She tripped over the leash and fell on the carousel.

I dropped the phone and ran over to her to help her get off the moving carousel, a hard thing to do trust me. She snapped at me to leave her be and I turned back to my podium.

It may have been the greatest ironic moment in my life.

Q: Smash Head on Keyboard
I just realized that I haven't used this journal for a little over a year to post. I have been lurking and posting on communities but no journal writing. A lot has happened to me since I posted last so let me fill you in.

At the end of April, April 30, 2007 to be exact, I quit my job as an HR Manager for the department store I was working at. I took a job with an Airline as a Customer Service Agent. That is the person who checks you in, helps you at the gates, and handles baggage concerns.

So just to recap I jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. If you have ever worked in retail you know what I am talking about when I say frying pan. People tend to treat you like a personal slave when you work in retail.

When you work on the front lines for the airline not only do the passengers treat you like crap and blame you for weather and mechanical situations, they also take it out on you when they are to late for their flight.

You haven't lived until someone has told you you've ruined their Christmas after you've refused to check them in 15 minutes before departure of their flight. That's not before boarding but before the plane takes off from the runway.

Anyway I digress. I have also moved from the armpit of Oregon, also known as Albany, to the wonderful city of Portland, more specifically the suburb Hillsboro. I have a two bedroom apartment with my sister Meg.

So here I am in Portland, but maybe not for long. I am probably moving to Seattle so I can be near my family. That would happen in June. Which knowing my awesome ability to update this journal is probably when I will update this next.

On a little bit of a side note, for Christmas, my birthday, and next Christmas my parents bought me, my sister, and my brother tickets to the Vancouver Gatecon in April. AND I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!!!!

Anywho, I really do plan on updating this journal this time around. I have lots of interesting things happen to me at work, so I will have plenty of subject matter.
